Case Overview

This case describes the requirements for the importation of starter cultures (and derivatives) for human food, beverage, human therapeutic and cosmetic use only.

Note that import conditions in this case are also applicable to primary derivatives e.g. antigens, proteins, genetic material. Secondary derivatives e.g. antibodies, are not permitted under these import conditions.

Please note that this case only applies to the starter culture component of composite products. If you are importing a composite product, you must search BICON for each individual ingredient to determine the conditions that apply.
