Case Description

This case describes the requirements for the importation of microorganisms and infectious agents for in vitro use or in vivo use in laboratory organisms. Note that import conditions in this case are also applicable to primary derivatives e.g. antigens, proteins, genetic material. Secondary derivatives e.g. antibodies, are not permitted under these import conditions.

This case also applies to the importation of department approved starter cultures for in vitro use or in vivo use in laboratory organisms. For the import of approved starter cultures for all other end uses, please refer to BICON case Starter cultures.
