Case Description

This case describes the requirements for the importation of highly refined organic chemicals and substances for all uses other than as animal consumption, use as bioremedial agents or fertiliser, or for veterinary therapeutic use. This case includes items such as acetone, alcohols, amino acids, citric acid, varnish, sulphur compounds, dyes, insecticides or paraffin.

The only products derived from a fermentation process covered by this case are: alcohols, vitamins, organic acids and amino acids. For all other products derived from a fermentation process e.g. antibiotics, please refer to the relevant BICON cases.
