Case Overview

This case describes the requirements for the importation of baitfish, aquaculture feed and pet fish food. Aquaculture is defined by the Food and Agriculture Organization as:
"The farming of aquatic organisms including fish, molluscs and crustaceans with some sort of intervention in the rearing process to enhance production, such as regular stocking, feeding, protection from predators, etc.”
Baitfish are fish that have been sourced for the purpose of commercial fishing or used as feed in aquaculture systems.
