Case Description
This case describes the requirements for the importation of empty shells sourced from terrestrial, freshwater or marine molluscs, and other shelled animals. This case includes but is not limited to clam shells, cone shells, hermit crab shells and snail shells.

This case applies to imports into: Australia.
This commodity or species may be subject to the Australian Government Department of the Environment and Energy legislation under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and flora (CITES). Commodities/species known to be, or considered to be covered by CITES will be referred to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (Customs and Border Protection) on arrival to Australia, in addition to their need to satisfy biosecurity import conditions.
