Case Description
This case describes the requirements for the importation of fresh asparagus for human consumption.
This commodity does not require an import permit for importation into Australia.
Fresh asparagus must be free of biosecurity (quarantine) pests and disease and any other biosecurity risk material and be packed in secure packaging prior to arrival in Australia. It requires phytosanitary certification and department inspection prior to release from biosecurity control.
