This case describes the requirements to allow the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment (the department) to monitor the content, and control the movement, of transhipped ship’s stores and aircraft stores for use on cruise and commercial vessels.
Note: This case does not apply to ship/aircraft spares. Ship/aircraft spares are defined as “parts or accessories that are required for the maintenance or general operation of a vessel”. However, if ship/aircraft spares do contain components of biosecurity or are used spare parts, then consignments must be referred to the department for assessment.
