Zantedeschia spp. for use as nursery stock

This case describes the requirements for the importation of species of Zantedeschia plants, tissue culture and tubers. All plant material requires an import permit prior to importation into Australian territory. Tissue cultures must be free of visible contamination, and require phytosanitary certification and inspection prior to release from biosecurity control. Other plant material will require inspection, fumigation and a minimum 3 months growth period in quarantine at an approved arrangement site for visual disease screening. Dormant Zantedeschia tubers from approved countries may be imported under an approved system that requires inspection overseas to verify freedom from pathogens of concern. Tubers must be treated for insects, and following inspection and treatment, may be released from biosecurity control without the need for post entry quarantine.
