This case includes banana and banana products that have been dried, boiled, cooked, fried or baked, banana flowers, frozen leaves or frozen products containing banana leaves, extracts or highly processed goods and banana flavours.

Poppy straw (Papaver somniferum) for processing

This case describes the requirements for the importation of dried poppy straw (Papaver somniferum) for processing. The term poppy straw is used to indicate dried deseeded capsules with 10-20 cm of stem. Material will require mandatory treatment to mitigate biosecurity risks associated with this commodity, or be processed in accordance with approved methods. Ship or aircraft stores for transhipment

This case describes the requirements to allow the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) to monitor the content, and control the movement, of transhipped ship’s stores and aircraft stores for use on cruise and commercial vessels. Note: This case does not apply to ship/aircraft spares. Ship/aircraft spares are defined as “parts or accessories that are required for the maintenance or general operation of a vessel”. Examples of ship/aircraft spares include engines or engine components, seals, bearings, lubricants, new filters, o-rings etc. These items are generally not derived from, nor contain, animal or plant products. However, if ship/aircraft spares do contain components of biosecurity or are used spare parts, then consignments must be referred to the department for assessment.
