This may include specimens such as phytoplankton, zooplankton, preserved or fixed insects and arachnids, dead or preserved bees and preserved or fixed animal or human specimens, including specimens in resin. Biodegradable plant pots Alerts

This case describes the requirements for the importation of biodegradable plant pots for use as fertiliser. For coir fibre liners for hanging baskets, please see the Permitted plant fibres case. Biodegradable plant pots can be made from rice husks, coir peat, sphagnum, wood pulp, coconut fibre and other plant materials that pose a biosecurity risk. Pots must be manufactured in a way that will reduce the biosecurity risk or be subject to mandatory treatment. These conditions do not apply to pots made from bioplastics such as starch derivatives or cellulose.
