Noodles

This case describes the requirements for the importation of noodles for human consumption only. This case may include items such as pasta, spaghetti, noodles, commercially packaged noodles or instant noodles. Please note that this case applies to noodles derived from plant material only and noodles containing egg. If you are importing a composite product that includes ingredients other than egg, you must search BICON for each individual ingredient to determine the conditions that apply. For food products including pasta and noodles containing equal to or greater than 10% egg (excluding meat) refer to the BICON case Egg and egg products for human consumption. Returning Australian products Changes

Effective 8 April 2024 to present

This case describes the requirements for the importation of goods returning to Australia. Goods covered by this case contain or consist of ingredients of plant, microbial or animal (excluding live animals) origin. Returning goods refers to goods originating from Australia that have been exported and are now being imported back into the country. This case also covers goods that have been shipped between two Australian ports but have exited and then re-entered Australian territory en route (e.g. trans-shipped goods). The goods must not have been altered while offshore. If any growing, processing or manufacturing occurs offshore that changes the nature of the product, the goods will then be considered a ‘new product’ rather than of Australian origin and you must search BICON to determine the conditions that apply.

Timber and bamboo packaging

This case describes the import conditions for timber and bamboo packaging material that is imported as a commodity (is not being used to support goods in international trade). This case describes the requirements for the importation of bee products for all end uses other than as animal foods, fertilisers or for growing purposes. Examples of bee products are honey, honeycomb, royal jelly, propolis, beeswax bee venom, bee pollen for human consumption and therapeutic use, used beekeeping equipment and used beehives.

Plant fibre products and seed handicrafts Changes

This case describes the requirements for the importation of fibre products and seed handicrafts.For the purposes of this case fibre products refers to dried, empty cotton pods, cholla wood and luffa. Seed handicrafts refer to products made from Aluerites spp., Fagraea spp. and Pandanus spp. seeds.

Stockfeed, stockfeed ingredients and stockfeed additives

This case describes the requirements for the importation of stockfeed products to be fed to stock animals including ruminants, poultry, pigs, horses, aquatic animals and bees. These products may contain ingredients of animal, microbial, plant, macroalgae, microalgae and/or mineral origin. This case should also be used for silage inoculants and for samples of plant-based stockfeed being imported for laboratory analysis.
