This includes items such as taxidermied animals, animal tissues (including fish), animal excretions and turf embedded in resin, preserved animal bones, animal scientific specimens, rawhide musical instruments containing materials of animal origin, tanned and untanned hides and products made from tanned or untanned hides. Meat based flavours for human consumption

This case describes the requirements for the importation of meat based flavours for human consumption only. Meat based flavours are derived from meat but contain no discernible pieces of meat. Meat based flavours include soups, curry mixes, stock cubes and noodle flavours. This case applies to importation of heat processed meat based flavours containing meat derived from mammals, birds or reptiles. This case does not include meat derived from fish (including elasmobranchs/sharks), crustaceans (including prawns), molluscs or aquatic animals, for these products, please search for the relevant BICON case. This case does not include pork crackling and/or rind products, for these products, please refer to the BICON case Uncanned or unretorted meat. Please note that this case only applies to the meat based flavour component of composite products. If you are importing a composite product, you must search BICON for each individual ingredient to determine the conditions that apply.
