Permitted plant fibres

This case describes the requirements for the importation of the majority of articles made out of plant fibres for all uses other than as animal foods, fertilisers, landscaping or for growing. This case includes import conditions for coir fibre liners for hanging baskets. For coir peat and coco peat products please see the Coir peat case. Poppy straw (Papaver somniferum) for processing

This case describes the requirements for the importation of dried poppy straw (Papaver somniferum) for processing. The term poppy straw is used to indicate dried deseeded capsules with 10-20 cm of stem. Material will require mandatory treatment to mitigate biosecurity risks associated with this commodity, or be processed in accordance with approved methods.
