Are the seed lots tested for regulated pathogens prior to shipment?

Capsicum seed must be tested either pre-shipment or on arrival in Australia for:

  1. Columnea latent viroid, Pepper chat fruit viroid and Potato spindle tuber viroid using a reverse-transcription PCR test.

  2. Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) using department-approved PCR primers and protocols.

  3. Tomato mottle mosaic virus (ToMMV) using department-approved PCR primers and protocols.
