Import Conditions
Import conditions define the biosecurity requirements which must be met for your import. Where import conditions have been developed, they will be listed below.
-
The plant material/seed has been assessed as posing a serious disease risk and is not permitted entry into Australian territory. Any material imported into Australian territory must be either exported or disposed of at the importer's expense.
-
There are three seed transmitted viruses of Colocasia spp. of quarantine concern to Australian territory.
They are Colocasia bobone disease (rhabdovirus) (CBDV), dasheen bacilliform (badnavirus) (CBV) and dasheen mosaic (potyvirus) (DsMV).
Applications to import Colocasia spp. seed will not be approved. -
In addition to the conditions for the goods being imported, non-commodity concerns must be assessed including container cleanliness, packaging and destination concerns, and may be subject to inspection and treatment on arrival. Please refer to the BICON Non-Commodity Cargo Clearance case for further information.
For importers who are interested in pursuing a further evaluation, please contact the Import Services Team. Please note, this is not an option for plant material which has landed in Australian territory.
