This case contains a number of different import scenarios with associated import conditions. You can refine the import scenarios by answering the questions below.

Are the herbarium specimens fully preserved, identified and being formally incorporated into a herbarium reference collection?

Fully preserved herbarium specimens are portions of plants that have been preserved to their final state and are being formally incorporated into a reference collection at a research institution listed in the Index Herbariorum (note: Small pieces of leaf material may be removed from herbarium specimens for DNA analysis). These specimens may be presented/stored:

  1. in paper folders, packets or boxes, or

  2. mounted on cards or microscope slides, or

  3. preserved in ethanol or other preserving fluids, or

  4. consist of dried woodblocks or large separate dried fruits or other large parts, or

  5. desiccated in a generous volume of silica gel (at least a ratio of about 10:1 is required for leaf material).
