Present all documentation
The importer or nominated agent must present all required documentation to the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources as part of the import procedure.

Inspection
The seed is subject to an inspection by a biosecurity officer.

Movement
The goods are to be moved directly to nominated post entry quarantine facility for disease screening until released from biosecurity control.

Treatment
Prior to sowing, the seed must be:
Immersed in hot water at 52°C for 10 minutes and then dried.
Treated with Thiram® seed fungicide (see safety precautions).

Post entry quarantine
The treated seed must be grown in closed quarantine for disease screening. Inspection is required at the following stages of growth:
seedling emergence
halfway through the growing period
heading and flowering
a final inspection of the harvested seed.

Release
The department will release the goods once all of the biosecurity requirements have been met.
All treatments must be performed at an approved arrangement site (AA site) by a biosecurity officer, by an authorised person under an approved arrangement with the department, or under the supervision of a biosecurity officer.
