  1. Present all documentation

    The importer or nominated agent must present all required documentation to the Department of Agriculture as part of the import procedure.

  2. Self Assessed Clearance (SAC) assessment

    The goods and any accompanying documentation are subject to assessment by a biosecurity officer.

    Pending this assessment, the goods may be inspected and released directly from the SAC database. However, a formal entry into the AIMS database may be initiated where remedial action is required (such as where the goods require a permit or treatment).
