Goods arriving without import permit
If goods arrive in Australia without a valid import permit they may be exported or destroyed, at the importer's expense.

Self Assessed Clearance (SAC) assessment
The goods and any accompanying documentation are subject to assessment by a biosecurity officer.
Pending this assessment, the goods may be inspected and released directly from the SAC database. However, a formal entry into the AIMS database may be initiated where remedial action is required (such as where the goods require a permit or treatment).
