Onshore Outcomes

  1. Present all documentation

    The importer or nominated agent must present all required documentation to the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment as part of the import procedure.

  2. Inspection

    The seed is subject to an inspection by a biosecurity officer.

  3. Treatment

    The goods require phosphine fumigation at 1.0-1.5g/m³ for 7 days at a temperature above 25°C. At the completion of the fumigation, the phosphine concentration must be at least 0.1g/m³. Phosphine should not be used at 15°C or below.

    Information

    Aluminium phosphide is available as tablets, pellets or sachets.

    1g of phosphine = 1 tablet = 5 pellets = 1/11 sachet.

    Commercial formulations include Phostoxin® and Gastoxin®.

  5. Release

    The department will release the goods once all of the biosecurity requirements have been met.
