Will the packaging verification inspection be performed by the department or by an accredited person operating under a Verification of Packaging for Airfreight Perishables (VPAP) approved arrangement (AA)?
The VPAP AA (Class 2.41) allows industry to perform packaging verification inspections for certain airfreight perishables on behalf of the department. Packaging must be verified as secure prior to movement from the Cargo Terminal Operators (CTO) premises to the inspection point. The COLS lodgement will indicate if the goods are intended to be moved under this arrangement.
Where the VPAP AA holder details are provided in the ‘Direction/Line/Container’ field, the ASG officer must access QPR and confirm that the approval remains active.
