BICON Rollout
Effective 9/10/2015 to 4/11/2015

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources is launching the new Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system in stages, with a view to achieving the complete transition to BICON by December 2015.

This will involve a short extension to the BICON pilot, followed by three stages where the volume of import permit applications processed through BICON will be progressively increased as the existing ePermits, ICON, and eLodgement functionality is removed.

On 19 October 2015, the first of the three rollout stages will commence:

  •          BICON will be made publicly available for general use.
  •          The ePermits capability will be removed - permit applicants should use BICON instead for these types of permit applications.
  •          The eLodgement capability for cat and dog permit applications will be removed - permit applicants should use BICON instead for these types of permit applications.
  •          All manual permit applications will be processed in BICON.
